    Bio
Skip Smith joined Gilpin in 1994 and has 15 years of mortgage lending experience. A native Delawarean, Skip began his financial services career with WSFS in 1986. After receiving a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Delaware, Skip began his banking career in human resources. This prepared him for the day to day interaction with homebuyers, their real estate agents and the many others involved in a home purchase transaction. Skip is based in our Newark location and he has originated thousands of conventional, jumbo, FHA, VA and first time buyer loans.

A diehard Blue Hen football fan and McKean High School graduate, Skip has three children and lives in Newark. He is also an approved instructor for the Delaware Association of Realtors and is licensed to provide mortgage financing in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
